This initiative emphasizes the values of sincerity over material wealth. Mrs. Natali’s knowledge and teachings are shared only with chosen individuals those with kindness and a gentle heart—so they can spread goodwill to others, especially those in need, including individuals with disabilities. It is a distinctive endeavor dedicated to fostering love, compassion, and support for those who need it most.

It’s such a huge honor and privilege for me to receive this award for the ‘Amazing Asian Paralympic Athlete of the Year 2024’. Thank you Ms. Natalia Tjahja, founder of Maria Monique Last Wish Foundation for this honor and opportunity to bring more awareness to disability sport. As a Paralympian, my goal is not just to represent my country, Singapore, but also to shed light on how persons with disabilities can also make a significant impact in the sporting community.
I’d also like to extend my gratitude to my national sporting associations, the Equestrian Federation of Singapore (EFS), coach and management, as well as the Singapore National Paralympic Council (SNPC), Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) for their support during the Paralympics and more.
I will continue to strive to work harder for the next Paralympic Games and in my sport, Para Dressage. Without the support of my team, family and sporting associations, I would not be where I am today. Thank you

Maria Monique’s tale is one which will tug at the heartstrings of any parent. And it was her heart-warming story,of how she battled against the odds, which prompted me to highlight her condition in the straits times. She may not have been in this world long enough to touch many people. But through her mother,Natalia, and the Maria Monique Foundation, her legacy lives on.

I first met Natalie when I was assigned to explore a story on little Maria. As I talked to her,I began to feel touched by the love she had for her child and the perseverance and determination of a mother to see that her only child gets the best care. I believe that this book will move others to the spirit of giving, which will hopefully allow efery child to experience the blessings of life. A book such as this can help ensure that the beautiful Journey Maria Monique took will live on in the form of fulfilling others children’s last wishes under this meaningfull foundation. My very best wishes for this blessed journay.

Maria Monique, Natalia’s one and only child has passed away in 2006. She was just 7,5 years old at that time. It is beyond our capacity of imagination, how sad and sorrow Natalia feel. But then, Natalia didn’t need to much time to revive and doing something good for many people. Natalia is my niece. I am an older brother in law of her father.
But as a younger person, as a younger generation, she teach me a very valuable lesson, how to transform sorrow into a positive activities, beneficial for many. Her strong faith to God guide her to go onward tirelessly. Natalia has dedicated her life to serve people. She become a woman for others.
