Nolba Memela
Spouse of Ambassador of South Africa |
On the 13th September 2008 I went to South Africa with Natalia Tjahja,
where she embarked on a charity mission to the Nkosi Johnson. Natalia
is the founder of the Maria Monique Lastwish Foundation which gives
happiness to HIV positive children and those who cannot speak for
themselves. We were accompanied by the Indonesia Embassy in South
Africa on our visit to Gail Johnson, founder of the Nkosi Johnson
Foundation which takes care of HIV positive young children in South
Africa. On the day of the visit we were welcomed by a delectable lunch
and had an opportunity to share the moment with two ladies who are
nominated by the Almighty to serve as his representatives to the humankind.
Though a lot of kids were still at school we had an honour to have
some of them to receive what Natalia brought to Nkosi Johnson Haven.
Those kids are suffering from the scorge of HIV Aids and some of them
were left behind by their parents to fend for themselves. Among the
beautiful presents were: Colorful costumes, books, remote control
toys and wonderful playstations. Children were very, very happy and
sang a song to express themselves.
To the eyes of those present Maria Monique's spirit touched their
hearts and will live with the for ever. That moment will stay memorable
to the mind and soul of those children who were so fortunate to share
and celebrate the life of Maria Monique.
South Africa feels privileged and honoured to be chosen by Maria Monique
Foundation to receive such contribution which will change the lives
of those children for the better and will always know that someone
from Indonesia came to visit them, full of love and care for them. |
